In this blog post I will be sharing my personal opinion about our first project as a class and how I felt about the three different presentations.
First, Group 3 presentation was about Healthy eating. This is a topic that I know very well about, but struggle with, as a Hispanic most of our food isn't really considered healthy. I have just started my journey of detoxing my body for my own good. I struggle with juvenile acne, and I went to see some specialists about it. They gave me the best piece of information I could ever receive, He said "Acne reacts with what your body is eating." I learned that in order to get rid of this back acne I have to cleanse myself from inside to out. I'm not much of a fruit person as I was never taught to eat them, and I've just recently learned to eat vegetables, I now have been eating vegetables regularly for at least 2 meals of the day. I have also started to detox with Green juice, which consists of any vegetable or fruit that is green, and blended together. This is supposed to help my body get rid of those toxic GMO foods that have stayed in my body retained. This is also the reason why I keep gaining weight, and not good weight, it's unhealthy to be gaining weight off of just McDonalds. I have learned so much information thanks to group 3, and I will forever be thankful of how helpful it was to learn how to better myself with food. With this I start my journey, and hopefully experience a better life for myself mentally and physically. I have also researched that most of the reasons why people often feel mood swings is because of the genetically modified food which we eat every day without even knowing. I have now opted for only organic foods which its barcode starts with a 9, those that start with an 4 are the most genetically modified foods. This information should be provided to everyone in order to also help better themselves.
Next was my group which was Group 2 and was all about self care and why it's important. This was a topic I was very interested in personally, not to be biased. Self care is an incredibly important part of daily life, and it is important in order to live a healthy, peaceful and clear minded life. Self care comes in many different ways, and it's all about what makes you feel better and about yourself. Self care can be working out, dancing, spa days, meditating, or even spiritual healing for your mind self care can be anything that you find calming or relaxing. Self care is stereotypically regarded as a girly thing, but I think it's human to want to take a day of the week to take care of yourself, it shows how productive and mature you are. Even if you believe you will be thought of as less manly by indulging in self care you should still give it a try because maybe you’ll end up feeling better about yourself and your life. Self care can also improve your mentality because if you feel better about yourself then you’ll be more confident and end up trying or doing something that you never thought you would and you end up liking it and know your life has changed because of one simple decision. Think of self care as a sort of reset button it helps take away all the negative things that you have been feeling allowing you to live a happier and more productive life. I personally do self care at least twice a week, a lot of girls call it an everything shower, which is you take the time to make yourself feel and look pretty, from shaving to face masks to meditating. It helps improve my mood, and when i'm done showering I feel refreshed like a new person, which help clear my mind and get ready to tackle anything I need to do.

Wow, quite a pay-it-forward act. Amazing.
